University of St Thomas, St Paul Minnesota - Virtual Event
In Winter of 2020 we were called upon by the university of St Thomas in St Paul, Minnesota in the United States of America to provide virtual event services for their Alumni Engagement event. In a normal year, the university would have flown the main presenter, Tim Schmalz, a world renowned sculpture, down to their school to have an in person presentation. In 2020, international flights were halted and in person events were at a stand still, so, the Pynx Multimedia team developed a way to live stream broadcast Tim from his studio in Elmira Ontario and do a walkthrough of his studio followed by a live Q&A from the people tuning in from the states. We were able to utilize a multi camera angle shoot for this project which consisted of a combination of Panasonic TM900 HD 1080/60 video cameras and a Canon XA55 4K camera that was driven by a Roland VR 4HD video switcher. This event was part studio walk through and part interview, so first, we used the Canon XA55 on a gimbal and sent a wireless HDMI signal back to the video switcher with the help of our friends at Glassworks Creative. During the walk around, Tim was able to clearly showcase his newly created clay sculpture which was massive and over 20’ in length! Once the walk around component had concluded, Tim sat down in an interview style shoot with his studio in the background for a live Q&A from the audience. This was a fantastic event and the attendees experience was unforgettable.
Pynx Multimedia offers full support for Virtual Events which includes remote guest panels.
